Reading sheet music and learning music theory in just a few months

kottaolvasas

Would you like a sheet music to finally make sense to you?

Did you always think it would take years?

Would it be easier for you to start if someone was standing next to you?

In recent years, we have worked to experiment with methods that simplify and speed up learning to read sheet music. We have selected tasks that are most useful for all amateur musicians – that is, for young people and adults who would like to do music, even if they do not make a living from it.

Many people may feel that this is a long, time-consuming and, moreover, bitter process – because often the children cannot learn it either, even though they have been learning for years. On the other hand, we see that most of the children are not motivated, and since it is compulsory for them, they generally have no desire to do it, so it is really difficult.

In addition, as an adult, one more thing is simpler: while in childhood we still have to learn to speak selectively, build friendships, or even fall in love, an adult has already seen much more of the world – so understanding a new system is much faster for him.

Guido Roveda has always been interested in the theoretical side of music. Since his studies in composition, he fell in love with renaissance music and this brought him to see this art from a historical and abstract point of view, reading several early music handbooks, studying theory and composition as it was conceived in the past, but never forgetting to bring this knowledge in the living present.
Music would be nothing with a proper organization. Since the beginning of it, human beings always tried to entangle the notes and rythms and do make them go wherever human brain decided. Knowing how to read, write and organize music, and knowing what lies behind the curtain of simple sound is what makes the difference, what makes the musician a good one.”

It was perfectly understandable as a beginner. If I had practiced more at home, I would have been able to solve the tasks faster. I think that’s the key. Because you are very patient and encouraging, you have led us through the current desperate moments.

Viki Rull

It was very well-traceable, compiled and, of course, my previously picked-up knowledge expanded.

Beáta Ujvárossy

For me, the course was completely understandable and interesting. I have developed the most in the field of tone and chords, which I feel very useful in singing and piano.

We think it is the school’s job to encourage. Our desires are born from experience, and our knowledge from desire.
