Correpetitor - ImPulzus

Correpetitor

Just a few piano sessions create a new quality

What exactly does a correpetitor do?

For those who are familiar with the world of classical music, it is a little different than the word usually in school. By correpetitor we mean when someone helps you to get to know the piece together with harmonies even in the middle phase of learning the piece.

In addition, it is also part of the story when someone wants to play at a concert – the piano accompanist is also often called a correpetitor.

As usual, the initiative came from the students: what if it was possible to book a correpetitor for the lessons, or perhaps for part of the lessons. Although this cannot of course work for free, we can still offer it at a more favorable price compared to the price of the lessons, because the correpetitor does not have to be there for every lesson, and even when she is there, it is not certain that she will be needed during the entire lesson.

Therefore, you can apply for our correpetitor packages in two ways:

If you specifically want to request only a correpetitor

because you have already learned the instrument before, or you just want to work with one of your fellow pianists on the occasion of an exceptional concert, choose the MINI or BASIC package, which offers the possibility of both collaboration for a monthly fee and, in the case of a project, a unique agreement with the teacher.

And if you would be happier if a correpetitor sat in on your singing/instrumental lessons,

for example, during the concert preparation period, or perhaps regularly every two weeks, choose the KOMPLEX package, which is specifically available only for ImPulzus students, in addition to the lessons, at a discount.

In order to make the system as predictable as possible, some of our colleagues work on Mondays, some work on Tuesdays, etc. have undertaken to accompany students, so depending on which day your class is on, we will connect you with a correpetitor colleague, with whom you will be able to coordinate the exact times.

What do you think, which one might be more useful for you, who should we connect with? :)

“Engaging with music can enrich our lives in various ways, no matter what level of involvement we have with it, it can only do good. I could talk about the beneficial effects on other learning abilities, the character-forming power of music, processing emotional traumas, experiencing flow, and more, but in one word, I’d rather say this: for me, music is a tremendous source of joy, and I want to share this joy with my students. I love instilling the mindset that their musical journey shouldn’t be limited to just one instrument, but depending on literature or their own predispositions, they can choose and explore multiple instruments. Moreover, I cannot emphasize enough the beauty and importance of chamber music and playing with others.

“My name is Nataša and I come from Slovenia. I graduated from classical piano at Ljubljana Academy of Music in 2017 and have been teaching ever since.
I enjoy working with students of all ages and knowledge levels as well as choosing different approaches depending on each individual. During my years of study and later I also gained a lot of experience as a chamber musician and an accompanist, therefore I like to encourage my students to try themselves in those fields as well if they are interested. My lessons are full of classical music as well as other styles, depending on the students’ wishes.
I’m excited to be in Budapest and looking forward to sharing my love for music with you!

“In music, the most beautiful experience for me has always been playing together with someone, whether it’s choral singing, historical performance on period instruments, romantic piano trios, or accompanying arias and songs. During my conservatory years, I explored both historical performance and choral conducting alongside the piano, but the genre closest to my heart is piano accompaniment. I’ve had the privilege of making music with singers and various instrumentalists, and each experience has contributed to both my professional and personal growth. Playing music is wonderful, but making music together is even better!

How does all this strengthen you in other areas of life?

“At the end, it really became clear how important it is to constantly look back at what I learned in the previous lessons. As we progressed, the “aha” experience came more and more.”

“Please continue this great work with great people, it’s a pleasure to learn from you :)”

“When I didn’t manage to play something properly for several times, thanks to the encouragement and practice in class, as well as the prompting of another task, I succeeded.”

The best motivation comes from within. We’ll help you find it!

We think it is the school’s job to encourage. Our desires are born from experience, and our knowledge from desire.

Some people take 10-15 years to realize that music is missing from their lives. And some people come to ImPulzus first.
